MASTER GANESH OF CLASS XII WINS SOUTH ASIAN HORLICKS WIZID '09

Bangalore, Nov 14th 09. Master Ganesh Venkatram, Class XII student of the Velammal International School, won the title of “South Asian Horllicks Wizkid champion” of the year includes a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and a trip to spain & Portugal. The weeklong competition from 9th to 14th November 2009 held at Bangalore invited 68 regional winners from India, Pakistan, Srilanka & Nepal. The first and second day competition included an outbound learning initiative at Pegasus Institute testing the mental, physical & sporting activities of all the participants. The Third day competition was the highlight of the total event, the project presentation, a social initiative that each participant have done from August 10th to October 10th 2009. Master Ganesh’s project care to cure cancer, an initiative taken to raise a sum of Rs 2,83,780 for the cancer institute, Adayar at various locations of Chennai on 1st Oct 09 was given the best project award among the participating 68 projects. On the fourth day an interaction session with Dr Goshal, Director, Indian Institute of Design and the speech round was another highlight of the competition. On the final day twelve participants were shortlisted and rapid fire round was conducted. Based on the answers master Ganesh won the first place of the total competition enabling him to win a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and a trip to Portugal & Spain. The other winners are Miss Aditi from Chandigarh won the second place, Miss Anvitha from Pune won the third place & Master Parth from Nepal won the fourth place. All these winners shall also join Master Ganesh in his trip to Spain & Portugese. The Velammal Educational Trust Chairman, Shri. M. V Muthuramalingam, Director Shri M V M Sasikumar, Executive Director Shri MVM Veeravel Murugan & the Principal Shri K Kothandaraman congradulated the winner.
